Form and function should be one, joined in a spiritual union.
Frank Lloyd Wright

1.   iPhone (a friendship that has turned to love)
2.   Eiderdown comforter (800 fill count)
3.   Chronicle Books Journal by Julia Rothman
4.   2001 BMW X5 (nothing beats driving it on mountain roads)

6.   Coach black high heel shoes
7.   Elna sewing machine (I have replaced the motor twice and will not part with it)
8.   Vintage Beaver Canoe sweatshirt (very cozy)
9.   KitchenAid countertop commercial mixer
10. Lululemon yoga pants (very slimming)

Clothing should not mask a person, but enhance one.
Richard Bengtsson & Edward Pavlick

What do you do when you find the perfect dress and your mother (or sister or friend) tells you it is nice but impractical and so you pass on it, but spend the rest of the season regretting your decision?

A teardrop of love on the cheek of eternity. – Rabindranath Tagore
(describing Shah Jahan’s Taj Mahal – a tomb and tribute for his wife).

My mother photographed the Taj Mahal during a visit to India in 1967.

The introduction of so powerful an agent as steam to a carriage on wheels will make a great change in the situation of man.  –  Thomas Jefferson

I had the pleasure of meeting this trainman today after riding the historic Roaring Camp & Big Trees Narrow Gauge Railroad steam train through the redwood forest.

What greater thing is there for two human souls than to feel that they are joined…to strengthen each other…
to be at one with each other in silent unspeakable memories.  – George Eliot

If I had known that he was going to be my only great love, I would never have let him go.

The stars try to imitate the glitter in your eyes
But fail helplessly and cry for your sight
To pacify my heart which pounds and weep
To see you till its last beat.
from The Glitter in Your Eyes – C. N. Premkumar

This Valentine’s Day take a moment to behold your lover’s beautiful eyes.

No man can be ideally successful until he has found his place. Like a locomotive he is strong on the track, but weak anywhere else. – Orison Swett Mardone

I love to travel by train! My favorite train ride was during the summer after grade ten when I traveled with my best girlfriend from Calgary to Vancouver through the Canadian Rockies. We both fell hopelessly in love with a handsome university student who boarded the train in Revelstoke and spent more time looking at him than the glorious scenery all around us.
